Five generations ago, a young couple named Luigi and Concetta LoCasto immigrated to the United States from Italy. During the immigration process their name was shortened to Casto. Luigi and Concetta raised seven children by selling fruits and vegetables from a truck on the streets of the south side of Chicago. These seven children and their children found their way into the tavern and restaurant business while their offspring have also followed their footsteps.
At last count there has been a Casto involved in almost thirty different restaurants and bars and as of today, there are seven different locations now operating that go back to Luigi and Concetta..
